DupeFree Pro Bug Update: MSN SERPS
As with Yahoo, MSN is now also not currently working with the ‘online’ button in DFP.
Google however is still working fine and the LSI button is also operating well.
The ‘online’ check feature of DFP will occasionally stop working for a Search Engine if they suddenly change the way their SERPs are output. This change renders DFP unable to pickup their SERPS totals. We have to update DFP in order to accommodate these changes as they happen.
The current DFP update is in the works. However, it is taking a bit longer than expected because its a major overhaul. This new version will be launched with a whole new setup through our new IM software brand.
Keep your eyes peeled!
Mike

No bug fix for 8 months, I take it this project is dead.

Hi Rob, thanks for your interest in the DFP project.
Whilst no updates have been released for quite some time, I can say this project is definitely not abandoned. Quite the opposite in fact.
We lost our programmer earlier this year shortly after deciding to upgrade DFP which kind of put things on hold. For a while after that we’ve been caught up in our non-IM projects. However, all the time, in the back of my mind, I’ve been wanting to return to DFP and software development as it is what I enjoy most.
Only in the last few months have I been able to spend any time on this side of our business and this time we are notching it up a whole lot. We are soon to be announcing our new software brand which is going to be releasing loads of great new software - and that of course includes great free software and scripts as well.
Look out for an email from us soon about all this. I’m just sorry its taken so long!
Kind regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I just downloaded your DFP. Awesome program and it’s free to boot. Still trying to figure out how everything works.
Can’t wait for the new bug fix, so get going. Just kidding!

The ‘check online for dupe content’ feature isn’t working with Dupefree. Will you be updating it soon?
Thanks
Steve

@ Steve & Denis …we are working on a new version of the currently available version which will fix bugs and add a few new features to boot.
We planned to have it ready and released by now but the holiday celebrations have put us back a bit. Keep your eye’s peeled though as it will be available soon.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey Guys,
Thanks for a great piece of software, I’m loving it. I would like to enter a request also if I may. Any plans for a Mac version? I sure hate getting on this windoze pc just to use your software, but will continue if I must.
Miles

I’m glad you are enjoying and finding DFP useful Miles.
Regarding a Mac version, we are seeing an increasing number of requests for Mac compatibility so hopefully either in the next major release, or at least one soon after, we will have a Mac compatible version.
It’s taking a while to get our new software brand setup and to develop a new DFP at the same time as we run our normal business, but we will get there and it is all going to happen for sure.
Thanks,
Mike

You have a great unique product here, I wish you would continue to update it. It has been 3 months since your last comment, so I guess this project is dead.
It still works with google but it is just a matter of time till that quits working too. I would gladly pay for a program that does what dupefree does.

@ Neil - Thanks for the kind words! I hope you are finding DFP useful.
@ Bill - Please rest assured DFP is far from dead
We have to juggle many other (non-IM) online business all at once so the time I get to spend on DFP is just a fraction of what it should be (hence the lack of updates in a looong time).
However, for the past few months I’ve managed to devote an increasing amount of time to DFP and the new software side of our business (I’m trying to move to this completely now as it what I enjoy the most). As well as working on the next version of DFP I am busy creating a branded platform under which to release our software. This platform requires systems for ticket support, community, sales, affiliates, etc. So moving to the next version of DFP is a much larger undertaking and taking a lot longer than originally anticipated.
But, as I move more in to this side of the business (and gradually leaving the other side with my brother Steve!) things should speed up considerably. Hopefully everything will be ready and the next version of DFP will be out before too long now!
Thanks again for all the interest in DFP and all the positive feedback. This is exactly why I want to make the next DFP version of a much higher caliber.
If anyone has any comments or suggestions please feel free to send them in via our support email: helpdesk[at]dupefreepro[dot]com …I read every single email!
Cheers!
Mike
