Overture Keyword Tool Back From The Dead?
You may have heard that recently the well known and well used free keyword suggestion tool provided by Overture (Now Yahoo! Search Marketing) was taken down.
As Yahoo! migrates their old search marketing product (Overture) to the new one (Panama) the thoughts in SEO circles are that the old overture keyword suggestion tool data will not be of much use as it will be made obsolete by the newer Panama system.
Well, interestingly I just tried out the old Overture keyword suggestion tool and got results back no problem.
Has Yahoo! resurrected this much loved keyword tool?
Actually many are now reporting fluctuating availability and so maybe I just got lucky and got in through a small window of up-time… or perhaps all this hoopla is just hot air and the tool was never going anywhere in the first place?
Either way it seems like the tool is going to be phased aside by Panama.
During this wobbly period for the Overture tool the guys over at WordTracker have taken advantage and setup their free keyword suggestion tool to take the place of the half deceased Overture tool.
You can reach this free WordTracker keyword tool via the link below:

This tool gives you 100 results and in my opinion is actually better to use than the Overture tool anyway because its results are not skewed and it also recognises the difference between singular and plural words/phrases.
However, if you have been in SEO (or PPC) for a while you should really have moved on from using free tools. You cannot realistically run a proper business on them.
The keyword tool we use the most at the moment is Keyword Discovery and to date they are by far the best we’ve tried.
Their database is huge and the extra features they offer are very handy such as the lateral keyword suggestion tool and the eBay keywords database.
If you are looking to step up your keyword research to a professional level you’ve got to try them. Pretty much every sector in Internet Marketing revolves around keywords and so this is one area you cannot afford to skimp on.
