DupeFree Pro Bug Update: MSN SERPS

As with Yahoo, MSN is now also not currently working with the ‘online’ button in DFP.

Google however is still working fine and the LSI button is also operating well.

The ‘online’ check feature of DFP will occasionally stop working for a Search Engine if they suddenly change the way their SERPs are output. This change renders DFP unable to pickup their SERPS totals. We have to update DFP in order to accommodate these changes as they happen.

The current DFP update is in the works. However, it is taking a bit longer than expected because its a major overhaul. This new version will be launched with a whole new setup through our new IM software brand.

Keep your eyes peeled! ;)

Andy Jenkins on “How to Destroy Duplicate Content”

Andy Jenkins from StomperNet has just released a video revealing how duplicate content can lead to “Site Death“… a tad dramatic perhaps, however it does ring true with what we have found.

In his video Andy primarily talks about on-site duplicate content and interestingly he appears to mention that compared with off-site duplicate content the on-site dupe is far worse. This is where I personally struggle to agree.

From our experience off-site duplicate content will almost certainly make your life very hard. The long and the short of it all is that you simply need to keep all your content (off-site & on-site) as original and unique as possible while still providing value to the end reader.

DupeFree Pro Bug Update: Yahoo SERPS

Yahoo is currently not working with the ‘online‘ button in DFP.

Yahoo have recently changed the way their search results are displayed which has rendered DFP unable to pickup their SERPS totals. In the next DFP upgrade this will be fixed.

Google and MSN are still working fine though and should provide adequate online dupe checks in the meantime.
